Bouncing off the incredible reaction to his recent collaboration with BADBADNOTGOOD, the Japanese-Canadian artist Jonah Yano shares new independent single ‘Shoes’. The song comes with a video compiled of DIY footage from Yano’s trip to Japan in October 2019, where he saw his father Tatsuya Muraoka for the first time in 15 years. The reunited pair wrote this song together, a folksy, lofi recording featuring Yano’s English verses alongside his father’s Japanese lyrics. The most powerful moment comes when the two harmonise together, inputting their own unique styles, but finding common ground through music after so many years.
